Choose the next move
If the face is still identifiable, a smaller display may be sufficient. If motion erased key features, another capture is more reliable than repeated enhancement.
Clarity and resolution
Separate grain from missing detail. Mild noise can be easier to improve than a face hidden in darkness; use the original file so the tool has the most information available.
You choose your own source and review the current cost before generation.

Compare a modest enhancement at the intended display size. Preserve believable shadows instead of trying to expose everything equally. If hair and fabric turn into smooth patches, the stronger version has lost useful information.
Check skin, hair and dark fabric at equal zoom. The images here are inspection references, not a low-light before-and-after test.

Test one enhancement and compare a cheek, hair edge and dark background at the same displayed size. Look for smeared skin or invented strands rather than judging brightness alone. If a detail was completely black in the source, treat a new visible feature as interpretation, not recovered evidence.
Keep the original camera file and identify whether the problem is grain, motion trails or missing shadow detail.

Why consider this directionThe illustration makes dark-region grain and facial light available for a source-quality discussion.
Check before choosingSeparate visible noise from missing detail. No enhanced output is shown here, so the crop is not evidence of recovered information.

Why consider this directionThe closer view enlarges part of the same image for inspection; it is not a separate enhanced result.

Compare a shadowed cheek with a textured area of clothing. Accept a little grain if it preserves believable features. If the face becomes waxy while the fabric gains repeated patterns, return to a gentler result or choose another source.
Enhance my photo ↗Not if doing so removes real texture. Compare at the final size and preserve useful skin, fabric or material variation. A perfectly smooth surface can be less informative than a slightly noisy but recognizable original.
