insMind

Looking for an insMind object-removal alternative? Start with what must stay.

Remove a distraction from my photo ↗

For a distracting cup, cable or prop, an erase tool should create empty space rather than invent a replacement object. insMind offers a dedicated Magic Eraser workflow. My Look Story lets you start in Free erase, paint the target yourself and compare the filled region with the original. Choose based on selection control and the next job, not an unsupported claim that either tool is universally better.

My Look Story's existing editor example: the foreground cup is removed, and the surrounding desk supplies context for the generated fill. This is not an insMind result or a same-image comparison between services. Inspect the surface and nearby objects, not only the disappearance of the cup.

Choose the workflow, not a universal winner

Consider insMind when you want its dedicated eraser environment and surrounding editing tools. Consider My Look Story when you want to mark a specific region, retain a source/result pair in your photo workflow and continue with another creative tool. Neither a product name nor an attractive sample establishes how an overlapping hand, complex surface or large obstruction will be reconstructed. For a transparent cutout, use background removal instead; for a new prop, use replacement.

Start with your own photo

Prepare your source
Keep the original, identify the exact distraction and decide whether its shadow should disappear too. A visible background around the target makes the task easier to assess.

Use the matching editor mode
The action opens Free erase. Upload your photo and brush the object; the link neither uploads the demonstration nor starts a paid job.

Review cost, generate and compare
The workspace shows the current quote before submission. Generation uses credits; a new paid attempt needs a fresh balance check. Failed tasks follow the displayed refund status. Downloads depend on your account access. Use photos you own or are authorised to edit, and manage saved tasks in My creations.

Dedicated eraser versus a continuing photo workflow

insMind's public eraser page describes uploading, marking an unwanted area, starting removal and reviewing the preview. It also presents other cleanup and editing tools. My Look Story's relevant path is Free erase inside the shared image editor. This guide does not compare the entire insMind catalogue or claim that our brush duplicates its automatic selection. Your practical decision is whether you prefer a focused eraser environment or a result you can select in a shared creation workspace. Existing projects, device habits and the next editing step can matter more than the wording of the upload button.

The boundary includes fragments and shadows

A cup is more than its main body: its handle, rim and attached shadow may remain if you brush only the centre. Trace the complete target with a modest margin, then check whether a cast shadow belongs to that object or to something you intend to keep. A large rectangle can unnecessarily replace a notebook edge or part of a hand. My Look Story's manual brush supplies the local editing boundary, whereas whole-photo cleanup and text instructions have a broader scope. Outside-selection protection applies to the working image, which may be resized, not every pixel of the original camera file.

Read the background as carefully as the removed object

Follow desk grain, floor tiles, railings or wall edges across the newly filled area. Repeated texture, a sudden softness change or a line that bends around the old outline is a reason to revise the selection. If the target hid most of a unique object, the model can create plausible content but cannot recover the unseen photograph. Removing a person who overlaps another person's face is substantially different from deleting a separate cup. Do not use a successful desk example as evidence of reliable face reconstruction. For documentary or sales images, retain the unedited original and disclose material alterations where relevant.

Compare an actual task before changing services

Use the same authorised source and a comparable target when judging which workflow suits you. Record what you selected and judge the final image at both intended display size and a closer view. One favourable sample is not an accuracy percentage. We have not run a paid, equal-condition insMind versus My Look Story benchmark, so there is no speed, price or quality winner here. Check each service's current account terms rather than treating free-trial wording as unlimited access. Save a chosen cleanup before applying a drawing filter: a stylised export may hide a seam without correcting it. If erasing is not the right outcome, move to the object-replacement guide instead of repeatedly generating empty-space fills.

  • No unwanted fragment or detached shadow remains.
  • Background lines continue through the filled area.
  • Nearby hands, faces and labels were not selected accidentally.
