Adobe Firefly

Looking beyond Adobe Firefly? Choose words or a region for your photo edit.

Edit my photo with a written instruction ↗

A sentence can express a creative change without tracing an outline. Adobe Firefly's photo editor includes a Prompt to Edit workflow; My Look Story's Instruction edit mode starts from your own photograph and an editable request. The useful distinction is how you specify the change and continue working, not a blanket claim that one service replaces the other's entire creative environment.

This site's existing text-editing example requests roses in place of the cup. It illustrates a target–change–keep instruction, not an Adobe Firefly output, a verified customer case or proof that every unrelated detail remains identical.

Choose the workflow, not a universal winner

Firefly can be a good fit when you want Adobe's editing environment, supported model choices and connected creative workflow. My Look Story can be a starting point for a photograph you want to modify in words, save and reuse alongside other photo tools. A keep clause requests continuity but does not lock pixels. When the exact location of a small edit matters, select Brush & replace instead of writing a longer global prompt.

Start with your own photo

Prepare your source
Start with an authorised photograph, identify the main target and list the few visible anchors you want retained. Keep a source copy for comparison.

Use the matching editor mode
The action opens Instruction edit with an editable request. It does not open Adobe, upload the example or submit a generation automatically.

Review cost, generate and compare
The workspace shows the current quote before submission. Generation uses credits; a new paid attempt needs a fresh balance check. Failed tasks follow the displayed refund status. Downloads depend on your account access. Use photos you own or are authorised to edit, and manage saved tasks in My creations.

An editing prompt is not a new-image prompt

Adobe's current help describes uploading an image, selecting an available Firefly or partner model and entering a text request to edit it. Its Learn material demonstrates natural-language photo changes. Those sources explain the workflow, not its performance on your image. My Look Story's text mode likewise uses your photo as the starting point. A reference for a new image and a photograph you want edited serve different purposes: make sure you are in the editor rather than the generator if preserving the scene is central to your goal. Do not assume a shared underlying model makes the surrounding tools, permissions or output contracts identical.

Use a target, a change and a keep clause

Identify the object in concrete language: the white cup on the desk is clearer than change that. State the replacement and then the scene anchors, such as the person, computer and camera composition. The displayed starting prompt follows this structure and remains editable after you reach the workspace. Several conflicting requests can make the intended edit harder to interpret; start with a change whose outcome you can actually evaluate. If several similar cups appear in the shot, location words may remain ambiguous. A painted replacement region gives stronger spatial guidance than an ever-longer sentence describing what you mean.

Choose the scope before choosing the model

Text-driven editing may reinterpret parts of the photograph beyond the named object. Asking to keep a familiar face is not the same as preventing its pixels from changing. Compare facial structure, hands, screen outlines, visible labels and background relationships with the source, rather than looking only at the newly generated roses. When a small prop must change beside critical detail, use the local brush flow. When the goal is a broad creative variation, text instructions may be the easier way to communicate it. Neither approach turns an altered photograph into an authentic record of a scene that never occurred.

What this comparison does and does not decide

Firefly's broader environment may be valuable if you need connected Adobe work or controls that My Look Story does not offer. My Look Story focuses on returning an edited photo to the same creation workspace, where you can choose another supported tool deliberately. We do not claim to reproduce Adobe project files, all partner models, layered documents or every region-editing feature. Each submitted My Look Story instruction is a separate task, not an unlimited free conversation or a guarantee of included revisions. Check the current quote before submitting another request and preserve the original when comparing versions. We have not run an equal-price, same-image benchmark across the services, so there is no winner ranking, measured speed advantage or assurance of identical identity preservation. Select the workflow that matches the change, then evaluate your actual result.

  • The requested target changed instead of a similar object.
  • People, hands, labels and composition were compared with the source.
  • A text request was not mistaken for a pixel lock or unlimited chat.

We publish My Look Story and have a commercial interest in its use. These guides compare documented workflows, not measured image quality, speed or equal-price performance. We are not affiliated with the named products. Examples belong to My Look Story; they are not competitor outputs or customer testimonials.
