Considering BetterPic? Decide how much portrait preparation you need
You may be ready to collect several recent selfies for a portrait package, or you may want to explore one professional direction from a photo you already have. Those are different starting points. This guide helps you plan input and selection work rather than declaring a realism winner. Open our business-portrait scene, then judge your actual result against your own identity and intended use.

The practical answer
BetterPic's public workflow uses several input photos and offers portrait packages with editing options. Our workspace starts from photos and selected scenes. Consider a package if its upload preparation and revision process fit the whole project; consider a focused scene when you want to explore a specific direction. More outputs do not automatically mean more usable photos, and neither workflow guarantees exact likeness.
1. Budget preparation and selection, not just photo count
Name the immediate deliverable: a professional profile, a biography beside a real job title, or a personal website. Then decide how many acceptable files you actually need. A larger package creates more selection work, including checking repeated facial errors and rejecting unsuitable clothing. If you only need one avatar, review effort can matter more than the gallery size. If several placements require different crops, a small shortlist with adequate room may be more useful than many similar images.
A collection of recent photographs is a different input commitment from selecting one usable source. Check the provider's upload guidance before buying and make sure you can supply appropriate photographs of the same person. Do not fill missing inputs with unrelated people, heavily altered selfies or old photographs simply to reach a count. For our scene workflow, begin with a clear current photo and confirm selections in the workspace. It is a way to explore a direction, not an equivalent portrait package.
2. Treat edits, regeneration and selection as different actions
Selecting another output does not fix the chosen image. Regenerating may change several details, while a targeted edit is intended to correct a specific part. Before purchasing a package, write the likely correction down: an unfamiliar collar, altered glasses or too little shoulder space. Verify whether the current plan supplies the relevant revision and whether it is included or separately charged. A guarantee headline is not a substitute for reading the conditions and knowing what a remedy actually does.
Our business-portrait action carries its scene into the workspace. The public catalogue currently lists that scene as active and shows two credits per result; inspect the live total before confirming your selected photos and scenes. Single and batch modes do not imply a trained personal model, manual retouching, exact outfit selection or an unlimited correction service. Do not interpret another generation as a promise to keep every pixel except the detail you dislike. This guide does not compare paid editing quality.
3. Prepare inputs that represent you now
Choose photos with visible face shape, familiar expression and ordinary appearance. Avoid sunglasses, intense beauty filters and a camera angle that hides half the face. Wear your usual glasses if they are important to recognition, and keep hair away from features you need to compare. A current photo matters when your appearance has changed: a polished portrait resembling a younger version of you may still be unsuitable. Keep an untouched copy beside the result so the original remains your reference.
Check the receiving website's requirements before generating. Some employers or institutions ask for a real unmodified photograph; a creative business scene does not satisfy that rule merely because it looks formal. Avoid invented company logos, uniforms, badges or awards that suggest qualifications you do not hold. Our examples help compare understated clothing and background directions, not professional credentials. Obtain permission before processing someone else's photograph and ask them to approve any result that will represent them publicly.
4. Build a shortlist with reasons to accept or reject
Inspect eyes, nose, mouth, face outline, age cues, hairline and glasses against the source. Then examine teeth, ears, jewelry, neck and clothing boundaries. Record why each candidate passes or fails rather than choosing the smoothest skin. An attractive image of a different-looking person fails the task. If identity is uncertain, ask somebody who knows you; if the recipient requires an ordinary photograph, stop using generated candidates and provide one that meets the actual rules.
Test the shortlist inside its real crop: a small circular profile, a rectangular biography or a website card. Check that the head and shoulders are not cut awkwardly and that the expression reads at normal size. A gallery preview does not prove a downloaded image meets print dimensions. Keep accepted files separate from experiments and repeat identity checks after any further edit. We do not promise a job offer, an event approval, a consistent team set or passport and visa compliance.
5. Read the transaction and understand our evidence
Check the package, current cost, correction access, download conditions and cancellation or refund rules at checkout. Do not substitute an old review's price or refund promise. Our service processes uploaded photos rather than operating only on your device. Removing a completed record from My Creations hides it from your user history; that is not an immediate deletion guarantee for administrative systems, providers and backups. Use the linked privacy policy and [email protected] for a data request, and avoid uploading sensitive identity documents.
